About the Conference | This was the 2nd international Conference organized by the Centre for Studies of Translation, Interpreting and Cognition (CSTIC) at the University of Macau. The conference, providing an international forum for presentation and discussion of up-to-date theorization, methodologies, operational methods and techniques, and projects on cognitive studies of translation and interpreting, attracted over 60 experts and scholars from Germany, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, Latvia, the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, Macao, and the Chinese mainland. Participants addressed the issue of the cognition of the working translator and interpreter from a wide spectrum of perspectives, including translation/interpreting as bilingual processing in the brain, the neurological, neurolinguistic and psycholinguistic aspects of translation/interpreting, the cognitive processes of translation/interpreting, conceptualization in the translation process, corpus application in bilingual processing studies, the methods, tools and technologies of cognitive study of translation and interpreting processes, as well as cognition and translator training. An edited volume of research papers will be published by Springer. |
